Flowers for Waite Park

Flowers for Waite Park is a group of local residents who volunteer their time to maintain all the flower gardens throughout the city. We welcome the help of people of all ages and you don't need to be a gardening expert.

A family, business or neighborhood could also sponsor a garden and volunteer to maintain it. We are always looking for more help. Scroll down to see more pictures of volunteers from our local businesses!

The volunteers meet the last Thursday of each month at 4:30 p.m. at the Community Park Pavilion at 151 13th Ave N.  New volunteers are always welcome to join them!

Contact our Landscaping and Volunteer Coordinator, Lorraine Russell, at (320)529-8640 if you are interested in volunteering.

See our Facebook page for more information about the monthly volunteer meetings.

Garden bed design contest WINNER

A winner has been selected!

We had excellent garden designs submitted by all who participated in the contest!  The designs were submitted to the judges anonymously. The entries were all so good, that any of them could have been selected as the winner!

After a thorough review of all the designs, the winner is the 8 year old grandson of one of our Flowers for Waite Park volunteers!  His design fits with the theme of the Healthy Living Trail and it appears to be very easy to maintain, as well as being very visually interesting!

Congratulations to our young and talented winner!

His winning garden design will be planted later this spring.

We also want to thank the great volunteers from the following local businesses:
Kohl's, Slumberland, and staff members from Park Meadows Apartments!  Our city flower boxes, gardens and parks all look great because of the hard work that they have done!  As you can see, they have fun, too!
